Almost two decades ago, in November 1988 a truly peculiar vintage Panerai 6152 1 was auctioned in Milan, Italy. At first glance the dial appeares to be anonymous but a closer look reveals a very rare inscription that remained unfilled/unpainted. Reference 6152 – not to be confused with the more common later Ref. 6152/1 – is one of the rarest vintage Rolex-Panerai models ever made. Ref. 6152 was the first Rolex-made Panerai watch model produced after World War 2. Our fellow collector friend Assaf Burstein from Israel provided some very nice comparing photos of the brand new PAM372 next to his 6152/1. It is great to see that Panerai has introduced a watch with so many historical features, carrying the DNA of the brand into the future.
